Who does the Dr. Hennessy Academy train?
We train doctors, dentists, nurses, dental therapists, pharmacists and paramedics in the treatment of B-tox and dermal fillers. We will NOT train beauty therapists as Botox /Azzalure are prescription drugs and they are NOT medically qualified. We also refrain from training beauty therapists in fillers.
Can we bring our own models?
We actively encourage you to bring your own models as you can see the results of your work a few days later but we ask you to make sure they are not pregnant or breast feeding. All models will be asked to pay an admin fee to cover their insurance and product. If it is not possible to bring your own model, don’t worry, we do provide them and delegates may also have the treatment themselves at the end of the day, again for an administrative charge.
Is food provided?
You will be offered refreshments throughout the day as well as a break for lunch. On booking a course you will be asked about your dietary needs and allergies.
What do I need to bring to the course?
You will need to bring picture ID (driving license or passport). Your certificate of competence will not be given to you unless we see your ID. Pens, paper and your theory manuals will be provided. We do promote a relaxed environment, so dress code is casual and sometimes we throw a bit of wit in too.
Who will be training us?
It will only ever be Dr. Stephen Hennessy BDS training you. He is an advanced trainer and has been on the tutoring circuit since 2005. He was previously a tutor in Facial Aesthetics MSc at UClan, teaches for Galderma in the UK and Europe as well as being on their research board. He has appeared on TV and spoken frequently on radio about aesthetics.
Will you talk about business?
Yes, part of the afternoon is designated to give you a head start in the aesthetic world and we will give you our knowledge on how to stand out in this competitive industry.
Will I receive CPD points for the training?
Yes, each course has been certified for the appropriate number of CPD points
Will I be eligible to obtain insurance after these courses?
Yes, all of our courses have been approved by Hamilton Fraser and Cosmetic Insure.
I am not a nurse prescriber – can I still administer Botox etc?
Yes. However, you will need a doctor, dentist, nurse/pharmacist prescriber to have done a face to face consultation prior to treating the patient with botulinum toxin, as this is a prescription-only medicine. Dermal fillers are not prescription-only and so can be administered without the need for a doctor/dentist/prescriber consultation. We can provide nurse prescribers for nurses within the northwest area. We ask nurses outside this area to call the Academy and we will do our best to locate someone near you.
Will I be able to contact the Hennessy Academy with queries after?
Once you have attended one of our courses we offer you unlimited support for any queries, questions or pictures. You will be given the Hennessy Academy’s designated mobile number, email and office contact details so we are never far away.
When should I book on your other courses?
After completing your foundation Botox and dermal fillers course we would recommend the Lip and Local Anaesthesia day as there is a huge demand for natural looking lips. At the end of the course you will be confident to produce smooth, fuller, beautiful lips rather than the highly publicised uneven and ‘sausage’ like ones you may see. We would also suggest attending our Advanced Course when you feel that you have seen patients on a regular basis and are confident enough to learn more complicated techniques. The Advanced Course allows you to widen your injection techniques, which puts you ahead of your competitors as well as expand your aesthetic business.
