Efficient, in-depth and affordable expert aesthetics training courses for radiographers
The first step in your new career is to undergo specialist Radiographers dermal filler training.
At the Dr Hennessy Academy we take a fresh approach to our courses and focus heavily on practical, hands-on training using live models in our clinic in Preston.
This is backed up with e-learning material and in-person theory work to give you a thorough understanding of the products, techniques and differences in facial anatomy.
Our Foundation Combined Botox and Filler Training course is a comprehensive introductory programme that covers everything from how to give effective injections, as well as developing and progressing your skills and background knowledge in order to give your clients the best, and safest, care
We have courses at all levels for suitably qualified and registered healthcare professionals. Some of our courses cater to those who are new and inexperienced with injectable treatments, while some more advanced level courses are for those who have completed a foundation course with us or any other reputable training course provider.
The best choice of course provider
The Dr Hennessy Academy is the best place to begin your transition into becoming an aesthetic practitioner either full time or part time.
You will be in the safe hands of Dr Stephen Hennessy BDS and Mrs Alisha Stonier RGN NIP. Dr Hennessy has worked in aesthetics for over 20 years and become one of the leading experts in the industry on Botox, fillers, and toxins.
He began his career as a dentist so he knows exactly how it feels to be transitioning from a medical profession to the aesthetic industry.
Mrs Alisha Stonier was also in the medical profession, working as a registered nurse for 11 years before training in aesthetics. She attended one of our foundation courses in 2016 and fell in love with it so much that now she teaches others!
We make sure to limit the class sizes to groups of 6 so that everyone gets enough hands-on experience and guided practice with the chance to ask plenty of questions.
Once you have finished your combined foundation course, you will have the opportunity to move onto more advanced courses like lip filler and local anaesthesia courses, as well as contact the Academy at any point during the future for support with any problems you may have.
More than just the injectables; we provide business and marketing training and support
While our Botox training, dermal filler training courses and lip filler courses are designed to give you the very best grounding in the industry, we want you to leave ready to launch your own business and make money from the very start
Along with the theoretical education, you will also learn the key differences between medical level injections and the more skilled and targeted aesthetic injection techniques which reduce side effects and increases the predictability of results using Botox.
We’ll also look at how to assess the face so you can implement the best course of treatment and deliver the best cosmetic procedures for each individual.
All of this is then backed up with business support and mentoring where we’ll help you understand the best way to deliver your face to face consultations, or online consultations if needed.
You’ll learn how to consult in a way that ethically boosts sales potential and client satisfaction as well as the basics of setting up a business including insurance, tax and some entry level marketing skills.

Frequently Asked questions by Radiographers
After completing a relevant course from a Botox and dermal filler course provider like the Dr Hennessy Academy, you will be qualified and have your certificate of competence to give you the authorisation to administer Botox to patients.
Healthcare professionals are bound by the need to uphold the standards expected in order to stay registered and continue to practise. These standards include protecting those in your care, continually learning and developing and doing what is right for your patients, which isn’t necessarily what they want.
It’s not just the professional standards which stand you in good stead for a successful future as a Botox and dermal filler practitioner.
You will have developed outstanding interpersonal and communication skills in order to explain procedures to patients which is essential when it comes to managing your own patients and their expectations.
A big part of a radiographer’s job is to pay exceptional attention to detail in order to notice any issues within a patient’s body – this, combined with an in-depth knowledge of the anatomy, gives you a head start when it comes to navigating a patient’s facial structure in order to deliver the best, and most natural results.
Keeping up to date with health and safety guidelines is a must as is the desire and ability to keep learning and implementing the latest technology and techniques in order to attract new clients and expand your aesthetics business.
You will have to work with a qualified doctor, dentist or nurse prescriber to so that they can conduct a full face-to-face consultation and prescribe Botox for you to then administer.
Fortunately, as a radiographer, you will be used to working closely with doctors during your profession. You may already have contacts in your network who can prescribe Botox for you, if not then we will be able to provide a list of qualified prescribers for you.
However, if you already work in a private clinic then you may be able to administer Botox without changing or finding a new clinic.
There is also the option of opening your own clinic where you can administer Botox and fillers on clients. During our foundation course, we will go through all the basics of starting your own business as we appreciate that medical professionals may not have the business experience and therefore lack the confidence to begin working for yourself.
