If you’re a dentist working in the NHS or in private practice, then you may wish to consider aesthetic training.
Aesthetic training covers such popular cosmetic treatments as Botox and dermal fillers.
Training in these techniques is a way for you to broaden the range of services that you offer your patients.
It is also, of course, a straightforward way for you to increase your income.
Training is quick, comprehensive and doesn’t cost the earth
Learning how to administer these non-surgical procedures and getting qualified is both quick and inexpensive. (Our Combined Botox and Dermal Filler Foundation Course only takes one day and is £745+VAT.)
As a practising dentist, the skillset that you already have, and the techniques that you use on a daily basis, put you in a very strong position to learn how to administer aesthetic treatments.
In fact, our founder and chief instructor, Dr Hennessy, is himself a dental surgeon. He was one of the first dentists in the UK to be trained in the use of B-Toxin and dermal fillers and now has over 20 years’ experience within the medical aesthetics industry.
Dr Hennessy BDS trains dentists along with Mrs Alisha Stonier, RGN NP. He continually updates his courses based on current research so that in addition to his many years of experience, students are always taught the latest techniques.
A range of training courses to suit your needs
Here at the academy, we offer a range of courses that help dentists to train in aesthetics. The combined foundation course mentioned above is an excellent starting point, but there are plenty of other choices to suit your skill level and your training budget. An ever-popular choice, for example, is our Lips and Local Anaesthesia Course.
Advanced training – build on what you already know
If you’re a dentist already trained in some popular aesthetic treatments and you wish to learn more, then we also teach advanced techniques at the academy.
Our advanced training courses can take you further, giving you a competitive edge. They cover such areas as:
- Scar correction
- Brow lifting
- Jawline definition
You can choose between our Advanced Aesthetic Training Course or our Advanced Cannula Training Course. Or, if you would like to gain a unique understanding of how aesthetic treatments are best incorporated into a clinic, we run special observation evenings that afford an insight into the way that Dr Hennessy BDS works.
We even offer bespoke one-to-one training. This is a course that can be completely tailored to your current level of knowledge and experience to ensure that you achieve your personal training aims.
Your professional development
Each one of the aesthetic training courses that we teach at the academy has been certified for the appropriate number of CPD points.
Additionally, we always use small classes (no more than seven students) and live models to give our dentists the best learning experience possible.
Getting the right insurance
When it comes to insurance, we make it easy for dentists once they have completed our courses. All courses taught at the academy have been approved by multiple insurers. The full list:
- Hamilton Fraser
- Cosmetic Insure
- Enhance Insurance
This approval means that the dentists we train can start offering aesthetic treatments to their patients straight away – with no legal or administrative complications.
We give you a head-start in business
Apart from the medical side of aesthetic training, we also look at the commercial side of administering these treatments.
On our courses, we always dedicate a portion of the teaching time to advising our dentists on how to be commercially successful using the techniques that they have learnt with us.
This means that from the moment you leave our academy, you will not only be completely confident in performing the treatments, but you will have a head-start in business and be ready to take full financial advantage of what is now a very lucrative market.
