About our aesthetic nursing courses

Our Botox courses for nurses is quick, comprehensive and affordable! Whether you’re just starting out with our Foundation Botox and dermal filler course or taking on some of more advanced facial cosmetics courses, you’ll spend more time practising on real models at the Dr Hennessy Academy than you would elsewhere.

We blend a mix of clinic based and e-learning practices with plenty of hands-on practice with our real models to ensure you leave your training ready to treat patients safely and confidently.

You’ll also receive ongoing advice and support with the admin side of the business including how to run effective consultations and the legal side of things are covered as we provide you with templates for consent and safety policies.

Our relaxed way of teaching is tried and tested with many nurses, just like you, moving on from NHS or private care work to run successful aesthetics businesses.

Learning how to administer these non-surgical procedures and getting qualified is both quick and inexpensive. (Our Combined Botox and Dermal Filler Foundation Course only takes one day and is £795+VAT.)

Models provided

We do provide models for all our courses but you can bring a model if you prefer. Please note that all Dr Hennessy’s courses DO NOT inject on plastic dummies as we believe that your practical on live individuals is invaluable.

When it comes to insurance, we make it easy for nurses once they have completed our courses.

Advanced aesthetic nursing courses – build on what you already know

If you’re a non-prescribing nurse already trained in some popular non-surgical treatments and you wish to learn more, then we also teach advanced techniques.

Our advanced training courses can take you further, giving you a competitive edge and cover procedures including:

Apart from the medical side of aesthetic training, we also look at the commercial side of administering these treatments.

On our courses, we always dedicate a portion of the teaching time to advising our nurses on how to be commercially successful using the techniques that they have learnt with us.

Freedom from NHS constraints

Moving from the NHS into the aesthetic industry as a nurse will look one of two ways:

  • You are a qualified prescriber and can open your own clinic, or
  • You are not a qualified prescriber and will need to work with another clinic.

Having your own clinic will be very different from working in the NHS. You will be self employed and the owner of your own business. Knowing that you don’t have any more red-tape to work around is an incredibly freeing feeling.

Working for another clinic will also be a very different feeling than working at the NHS. Bureaucracy, government cuts, and impossible deadlines will be a thing of the past.

As a qualified nurse, you won’t struggle to find an employer. All aesthetic clinics understand the benefits of hiring nurses that already have medical training and experience developing communication and organisational skills by working with patients in the NHS.

Frequently Asked Questions by Nurses

The Combined Botox and Dermal Filler Training Course is led by Dr Hennessy himself with the assistance of Mrs Alisha Stonier RGN NIP. On our advanced courses, Dr Hennessy is the sole trainer.

We keep our training group sizes quite small and split into two groups of five so you can ask any questions that you may have during the course.

Dr Hennessy rotates between groups to give everyone the opportunity to speak to the leading expert in dermal fillers and the namesake for ‘The Hennessy Lift’.

We offer details of prescribers to any non-prescribers that complete our courses.

In some cases, you will be given details of prescribers in your area or companies that can source prescribers for you.

  • Use social media to market yourself and obtain clients,
  • Keep in contact with clients after their procedure so they can promote your work,
  • Complete some of our follow up advanced courses so you can offer more specialist procedures than other clinics.
