Frequently Asked Questions

We train doctors, dentists, nurses, dental therapists, pharmacists and paramedics in the treatment of Advanced Aesthetics, Botox and dermal fillers. We will NOT train beauty therapists as Botox/Azzalure are prescription drugs and they are NOT medically qualified. We also refrain from training beauty therapists in fillers.

You may bring your own models as you can see the results of your work a few days later, but we ask you to make sure they are not pregnant or breast feeding and times must be arranged with the Academy 1 week before. All models will be asked to pay an admin fee to cover their insurance and product. We do however provide models for all delegates so please don’t think y6o9u have to bring someone. Appointments must be made prior to the course dates for all models.

You will be offered refreshments throughout the day as well as a break for lunch. On booking a course you will be asked about your dietary needs and allergies.

You will need to bring picture ID (driving license or passport). Your certificate of competence will not be given to you unless we see your ID. Pens, paper and your theory manuals will be provided. We do promote a relaxed environment, so dress code is casual and sometimes we throw a bit of wit in too.

On the Advanced Aesthetics training course and Lip & Local anaesthesia training course days, it will only be Dr. Stephen Hennessy BDS training you. He is an advanced trainer and has been on the tutoring circuit since 2005. He was previously a tutor in Facial Aesthetics MSc at UClan, teaches for Galderma in the UK and Europe as well as being on their research board. He has appeared on TV and spoken frequently on radio about aesthetics.

On the Combined Foundation course, Dr Hennessy will be accompanied by Mrs Alisha Stonier RGN NIP. Dr Hennessy will take the morning in-depth theory session and then both trainers will rotate between the two small groups of 5, to enable injectors to benefit from the wealth of their experience.

Yes, part of the afternoon is designated to give you a head start in the aesthetic world and we will give you our knowledge on how to stand out in this competitive industry.

Yes, each aesthetics training course has been certified for the appropriate number of CPD pointss

After completing your foundation Botox and dermal fillers course we would recommend the Lip and Local Anaesthesia day as there is a huge demand for natural looking lips. At the end of the course you will be confident to produce smooth, fuller, beautiful lips rather than the highly publicised uneven and ‘sausage’ like ones you may see. We would also suggest attending our Advanced Aesthetics training course when you feel that you have seen patients on a regular basis and are confident enough to learn more complicated techniques. The Aesthetics courseallows you to widen your injection techniques, which puts you ahead of your competitors as well as expand your aesthetic business.

Yes, all of our courses have been approved by Hamilton Fraser, Cosmetic Insure, Enhance Insurance and Lonsdale.

Yes. However, you will need a doctor, dentist, nurse or pharmacist prescriber to have done a face to face consultation prior to treating the patient with botulinum toxin, as this is a prescription-only medicine.

Dermal fillers are not prescription-only and so can be administered without the need for a doctor, dentist or prescriber consultation. We can provide nurse prescribers for nurses within the northwest area. We ask nurses outside this area to call the Academy and we will do our best to locate someone near you.

Once you have attended one of our courses we offer you unlimited support for any queries, questions or pictures. You will be given the Hennessy Academy’s designated mobile number, email and office contact details so we are never far away.
